Life-changing experience leads couple to open Mobility City Lubbock

JANUARY 23, 2026

Twenty years ago, Zach Campbell’s life changed on the way back from a Christmas gathering. His grandparents were killed in a rollover, and he suffered a spinal injury that left him paralyzed.

In 2026, he and Stacy Campbell, his wife, are taking that experience to help others in the form of a store – Mobility City in Lubbock, TX.

“I know what it’s like to instantly lose everything,” Zach said. “No one shops for wheelchairs for fun. No one plans to be injured or sick or old. They’re there because they are going through something. I’ve used all this equipment, and I know exactly how it feels.”

What is Mobility City?

Mobility City is a retail franchise that focuses on providing medical mobility equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, lifts, scooters, bathroom safety equipment, ramps and hospital beds. Its locations offer repair, delivery and installation services. Service technicians will set up equipment and train users.USA TODAY Shopping: Shop sales in tech, home, fashion, beauty & more curated by our editors.

“Mobility City is going to meet you where you are, for what your current needs are, and we’re committed to doing that, because we empathize,” Stacy said. “When you’re going through these types of situations in your life, there’s a lot of stress and chaos that happens. When you come in, you’re in a place that we’ve been living in.”

Equipment is also available to rent for people with temporary needs.

“People will say, ‘we can just go buy it on Amazon or Walmart, but one of the things that sets us apart is that you can come into our store,” Stacy said. “We have people that are well-trained to help you find the right fit. You can come in, sit down, touch it, feel how it feels on your body.”

Lubbock’s location will have a track in-store so people can test out equipment for drivability, comfort and fit. Mobility City has a partnerships in place with Veterans Affairs and CareCredit.

Reviews From Real Customers

The staff are very friendly and easy to talk with. They helped me get the right scooter for my needs. No pressure to buy and helped my wife understand how to take it apart to put into the back of her suv. I highly recommend Mobility City.
