At Mobility City of Albany, NY, we understand the challenges families and caregivers face when supporting a loved one experiencing progressive mobility decline. Issues such as caregiver burnout, physical and emotional strain, and the critical need for safe patient handling are ever-present. We know that providing daily support while ensuring safe and reliable transfer methods and reducing injury risk is no easy task. Our mission is to maximize patient comfort and safety while easing the demands on caregivers.
Many families and caregivers worry about transitioning full-time care or moving to assisted living. The physical, emotional, and logistical challenges require reliable safe patient handling strategies. We recognize that every situation is unique and that using proper equipment can positively impact both the caregiver and the patient.
We help manage these growing demands by providing a range of essential mobility and comfort-focused equipment. Our offerings include:
Our White Glove delivery service ensures that mobility equipment is delivered, set up, and demonstrated in your home, giving caregivers added confidence in day-to-day use. We take pride in partnering with the VA to ensure Veterans receive the mobility solutions they deserve while maintaining safe patient handling practices for everyone. Our dedicated team in the surrounding areas works consistently to keep people moving so they can remain independent, healthy, and happy.
Our commitment to safe patient handling extends to comprehensive support services for caregivers. We provide hands-on training for equipment use, long-term service contracts that keep devices in optimal condition, and equipment trade-in or upgrade programs to meet evolving needs. Our showrooms in Albany, Clifton Park, and Schenectady allow caregivers to explore mobility devices firsthand, and our short-term rental options enable testing before long-term commitment.
Honest, honest, honest. Those are the only words I can use to describe the owners. I currently have a rather large upright walker because I am a rather larger framed guy. My current walker is destroying the walls because it is wide and I am not as careful as I could/ should be. Based on excellent reviews I came here to explore my options for a smaller sized upright. Ultimately I was told that the smaller one would not be an option for me, as my current one is safer for ME b cause of weight capacity. So, if you need anything mobility wise, I would urge you to patronize this shop. Should my body size change, this is the place I would go. You should as well!
I was in the store today, first to be met with a salesperson who was cheerful and anxious to help. My husband bought a walker and wasn’t 100% happy with it. The owner came out and said he would do anything at all to help. He was the most pleasant warm and friendly man. He refunded our money without hesitation or question. The customer service was beyond compare. The other businesses owners should learn from this family owned business how to treat people. I would highly recommend Mobility City for any and all your handicapped needs. They were BEYOND wonderful to do business with. I gave them 5 stars but they deserve at least 10!
My husband had 2 walkers that were not working well. The brakes didn’t do their job, the handles were loose and the walkers didn’t feel safe. We took them to Mobility City to see if they could be fixed. Kris helped us and said not to worry, he could fix them. He told us that they didn’t need replacing yet. We were very impressed with his honesty! He made them work like new and then wouldn’t even let us pay We will definitely go back when he needs any devices!
