We understand how vital your electric mobility equipment is to your independence. If you notice that your power chair batteries aren’t holding a charge as long as they used to, your equipment suddenly struggles with speed or inclines, or it stops altogether, it may be time to consider a replacement. Most SLA style mobility batteries last about 12-18 months with daily use, while lithium batteries last longer but still degrade over time. At Mobility City of Sarasota, FL, we test both the battery and the charger promptly and efficiently so we can quickly get you a replacement and reduce your downtime.
Our team uses advanced diagnostic techniques to test the health of your power chair batteries. When we detect performance issues, we immediately determine if the battery or charger is at fault and provide a suitable solution tailored to your mobility needs.
Your mobility matters, which is why we service every type of electrical mobility equipment, including power chair batteries, whether your equipment came from one of our stores or elsewhere. Our technicians start by testing the charger—a common culprit—before performing full diagnostic testing on the battery. If you can’t make it to our store, we can come to you. We proudly serve Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, and the surrounding areas, ensuring you remain independent and active.
Some repairs can be complex, taking longer than a day or requiring specialized equipment and parts. We recognize that your mobility equipment is your lifeline, and leaving you without it isn’t an option. In these cases, we offer short-term rentals that include delivery, set-up, and training. Rest assured that whether repairs are performed on-site or off, we always clean your equipment thoroughly before returning it to you. As proud partners with the VA, we ensure that Veterans receive the mobility solutions they deserve. Call your local Mobility City or come into the showroom.
Why Do My Power Chair Batteries Lose Charge Over Time?
Regular wear and tear, along with daily use, can cause your power chair batteries to lose their capacity. SLA batteries typically last 12-18 months, while lithium batteries degrade more gradually.
How Do You Diagnose Issues With My Mobility Equipment?
We begin with testing the charger to rule out simple fixes, and then perform a full diagnosis of your power chair batteries and overall equipment performance.
What Are My Options If Repairs Take Longer Than Expected?
If complex repairs are needed, we offer short-term rentals with delivery, set-up, and training, so you remain mobile while we work on your equipment.
We rented a motorized recliner for a month since I was having shoulder surgery and couldn't use my left arm. The chair worked great and we were pleased with John's delivery and set up then his prompt arrival and removal of the chair at the end of the month. If you need any type of mobility item, I would recommend Mobility City. They were courteous, efficient and informative.
